"Essere Memoria" Award to Giuseppe Liuccio – Tribute to the Culture and Memory of Cilento

Vichiano Castle, Vatolla (SA) - September 6, 2025

Vatolla (SA), September 6, 2025 – The "Essere Eccellenza" Award ceremony was held in the enchanting setting of the Vichiano Castle in Vatolla, the beating heart of Cilento culture. It was part of the "I Fiori del Male – Festival dell’Essere" series, promoted by the Giambattista Vico Foundation.

The award was created to honor those who, with passion, commitment, and professionalism, contribute to keeping the culture, memory, and identity of the region alive. In an era when authenticity and depth risk being obscured by standardization and appearance, "Essere Eccellenza" seeks to recognize the value of teachers, musicians, artists, researchers, journalists, entrepreneurs, and professionals who, through their work, promote human, sustainable development that respects historical roots.

In this context of great symbolic and cultural significance, the evening also represented a significant moment of moving remembrance for Professor Giuseppe Liuccio, writer, journalist, poet, and man of culture, who dedicated his life to narrating and promoting the soul of Southern Italy, and in particular, Cilento.

As emphasized by Professor Luigi Maria Pepe, President of the Vico Foundation, and Daniela di Bartolomeo, Artistic Director of the event, Liuccio was awarded a memorial award, in recognition of his profound cultural contribution to the "legendary land that hosts us."

His daughter, Michaela Liuccio, accepted the award, thanking the Vico Foundation for the initiative and renewing the commitment of the Da costa a costa Giuseppe Liuccio Association to preserving and disseminating her father's thoughts, ideas, and intellectual legacy.

On the sidelines of the event, Professor Luigi Maria Pepe announced that a room in the Castello Vichiano will soon be dedicated to Giuseppe Liuccio, as a permanent tribute to his work and his connection to the Cilento region.

Heartfelt thanks go to Daniela di Bartolomeo, professor, scientific director of the Vico Foundation, and honorary member of the "Da Costa a Costa" Association, for promoting this initiative and for her ongoing commitment to promoting and promoting Cilento culture.
